What is a Determinate Variety?

Determinate plants grow to a specific height and then stop, focusing on flowering and producing fruit within a short timeframe. They typically have a brief harvest period, making them ideal for canning. These plants are small and compact, requiring little to no support, and they don't need pruning or sucker removal.

What is an Indeterminate Variety?

Indeterminate plants continue to grow and produce fruit until halted by frost or other external factors. They exhibit an open-ended growth pattern, often becoming quite long and sprawling. These plants typically require support structures, such as trellises or stakes, to remain upright. With a longer harvesting period, they allow for a sustained yield of fresh produce.

Note: All varieties of Tomatoes and Peppers have (D) for Determinate, (ID) for Indeterminate, and (H) for Heirloom Variety to help identify.
